CATERPILLAR Connecting Rods

Caterpillar industrial diesels run for tens of thousands of hours under continuous load, so the connecting rod is one of the parts buyers look up by number rather than by description. This category covers our Caterpillar rods, including the 404D-22, 404D-22T, 404D-22TA, 403D-17 and 404C-22 engine families as well as the smaller 104-22 applications.

These rods are produced from forged alloy steel and then machined, with big-end bore, small-end bore and centre-to-centre length measured lot by lot, so the dimensions hold from one order to the next and a replacement seats without further work. The OEM cross-reference numbers listed on each product page make it straightforward to match a rod against a parts book or against the old part still in the engine. Apart from stock models the larger 400-series rods are made to order, and we confirm the right part from your engine serial number before anything is machined.

The Caterpillar range is supplied factory direct, with no minimum order on stock models, so trial lots and sample orders are welcome. If you are not certain which rod fits your engine, send the engine serial number or the OEM number from the old rod and we will confirm the correct part before you order.
