BENZ Connecting Rods

Mercedes-Benz rods in this category answer three quite different jobs: the compact four-cylinders in the A180, A200, B200 and CLA, the V6 and V8 petrol engines behind the C200, C250, C300 and C350, and the commercial diesels under the Axor, Atego and Sprinter. Mercedes lists several numbers for what is effectively the same rod, so comparing against the number on the old rod is the reliable route.

For the 1.6T and 2.0T compacts, A2700300020 is the reference, supported by 2700300320 and 2700300420, and it is used across the W176, W246 and C117 body styles. The 2.0T turbo engines take A2700300120 with A2740303400 and A2740300101. Six-cylinder petrol applications use 272-030-07-20 or A2720301120 for the M272, and A2760300520 with A2760300220 for the 3.0T V6, while the 4.7T V8 uses A2780300120, A2780300220 and A2780300320. The 1.3T M282.914 takes 2820300020 and 2820303300. For trucks, 9060300320 and 010310900001 cover the OM906 and OM926, and 6420304120 with 6420303420 fits the OM642 3.0CDI.

40Cr forged steel is used on several of these rods, and each one is machined to size with dimensional checks run batch by batch. Small orders are not a problem: single rods and partial sets can both be supplied, and trial quantities are welcome.
